Terms of Use
Last updated
These terms are an agreement between you and Suppercharge ("we", "us") about your use of Suppercharge. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data.
The service
Suppercharge helps you plan meals. It builds weekly meal plans from our recipe catalogue and your own recipes, combines their ingredients into one grocery list, and guides you through cooking. It is available on the web at suppercharge.com and in apps for iPhone and Android (together, the "service").
The core of the service is free. Suppercharge Pro is an optional paid upgrade described below.
Accounts and guest use
You can start without registering. We then create a guest account linked to your device or browser. A guest account can be lost if you uninstall the app, clear your browser data or change device, so register with an email address to keep your plans.
When you register, use an email address you control and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@suppercharge.com if you think someone else has used it.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
Suppercharge Pro, payments and renewals
Suppercharge Pro is sold only as an in-app purchase through Apple's App Store and Google Play. We do not sell subscriptions on our website, and we never receive your card details. Pro bought in an app also works on the website when you sign in with the same account.
Pro is available as a monthly or annual subscription, or as a lifetime purchase paid once. The store shows the price in your local currency, including any taxes it collects, before you confirm. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
Automatic renewal
Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, and the store charges your account for the next period, unless you turn off automatic renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. A lifetime purchase does not renew.
Cancelling
Cancel at any time in your store account. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting your Suppercharge account or the app does not cancel a store subscription.
Refunds
Apple and Google process every purchase, so refund requests are handled by them under their own refund policies. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases ourselves.
Free trials
A subscription may start with a free trial offered through the store. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription begins and the store charges you for the first period. If you buy a subscription during a trial, any unused part of the trial ends.
Price changes
If the price of your subscription changes, the store tells you in advance as its rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
Promotional codes
We sometimes offer codes that give Pro for a stated number of days. Our codes are redeemed on the website at suppercharge.com/redeem, not in the apps, and need a registered account with a confirmed email address. Pro from a code ends after the stated number of days without any charge and does not renew. Each code can be used once per account, only while the offer is open and until any limit on redemptions is reached. Codes have no cash value and may not be sold or exchanged. Pro from a code works in the apps too. App Store offer codes and Google Play promo codes are redeemed through the store instead, under the store's terms.
Pro for your household
When the owner of a household has Pro, the other members of that household get Pro features too, for as long as they remain members and the owner's Pro is active.
Household sharing
A household shares meal plans and one grocery list. The person who creates a household is its owner and can invite others with an invite link. Members can see and change the household's plans and list, and each member keeps their own eating preferences. Anything you add to a household is visible to its other members. The owner can remove members, and any member can leave.
Any member can create a read-only link to the grocery list or a plan. Anyone who has the link can view it without an account until a member turns the link off. Shared links show the household name but not the names or email addresses of members, so only share them with people you trust.
Your content
Your content is what you add to the service: your own recipes, recipes you import from websites or files, notes, ratings, feedback, grocery items and household names. You keep ownership of it.
You allow us to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run the service for you and the people you share it with, for example to show your recipe in your plan and add its ingredients to your grocery list. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies in backups, which are erased on our normal schedule.
Recipes you import
When you import a recipe from a website, the service reads the page for you and saves a private copy for your household. Photos are not imported. Recipes can be protected by copyright, so you are responsible for having the right to keep the recipes you import, and you should use them only for your own cooking. Imported recipes stay private to your household: we do not publish them or add them to our catalogue.
If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve the service without owing you anything.
Our content
The recipes, photos, text, nutrition information, design and software of the service belong to us or to those who license them to us. You may use them for your own, non-commercial cooking and planning. You may not copy, scrape, republish or sell them, or use them to build or train another product or service, without our written permission.
Acceptable use
When you use the service, do not:
- break the law or infringe anyone else's rights;
- try to access accounts, households or data that are not yours, or get around limits, paid features or security measures;
- scrape, crawl or bulk download the service, or put an unreasonable load on it;
- upload anything harmful, such as malware, or content that is unlawful, hateful or harassing;
- sell or misuse share links, invite links or promotional codes;
- copy, modify or reverse engineer the apps, except where the law allows it.
We may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that break these rules.
Nutrition, allergens and health
Nutrition facts, calorie counts, diet labels and allergen warnings in the service are estimates for general information. They are not medical, nutritional or dietary advice, and they can be incomplete or wrong, for example when you swap ingredients, use a different brand or change serving sizes.
If you have a food allergy, an intolerance or a medical condition, always read ingredient labels yourself and follow the advice of a doctor or registered dietitian. Do not rely on Suppercharge alone to avoid an allergen. Follow food safety guidance when storing, handling and cooking food.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available, but it may sometimes be interrupted, for example for maintenance or because of problems outside our control. We may add, change or remove features, including which features are part of Pro.
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the service or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, the updated terms apply. If you do not agree to them, stop using the service and delete your account.
You can export your data at any time from Settings. If we ever decide to close the service, we will give you reasonable notice and time to export your data first.
Ending your use and deleting your account
You can stop using the service at any time. You can delete your account in Settings, in the app or on the website. Your account is then scheduled for deletion and you are signed out on every device. After a 7-day grace period your account and personal data are permanently erased, as described in our Privacy Policy. To stop a deletion during the grace period, email us at hello@suppercharge.com.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in the store first so you are not charged again.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop providing the service. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free, or that recipes, nutrition information or other content are accurate, complete or suitable for you.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot be changed by contract.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, loss of data you did not export, or losses arising from reliance on nutrition or allergen information. Our total liability to you for all claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for Suppercharge Pro in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim.
We do not limit or exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
Apple and Google
If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app other than refunding its purchase price if it fails to conform to an applicable warranty, and Apple is not responsible for addressing claims about the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also follow the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google Play's terms of service also apply to your use of Google Play.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over disputes about them. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country and may bring a claim in your local courts where those laws allow. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it.
